I surround you, with my many arms
I shelter you
Letting you hide behind my body
Letting you lean on me while you cry
Sometimes you kick me, parts of me fly
I love it when you scar me with hearts and initials
You chose me to share your love
My roots run deep
My lines circle with age
And just when you think I've kept you from light
An unexpected breath blows the curtains of my hands, to make little holes of beauty
to light your path.
