Happy Monday!! I hope all of you had a glorious weekend. My weekend checked off pretty nicely. Good friends.Check. Friday concert in the rain. Check. Hat and poncho (after an hour scavenger hunt)Check. Cold beer. Check. Nothing could be better...well...wait a second, was that me who couldn't see Jason Aldean, and batted my eyes to the burly security guard to please, please let me walk up closer and get one picture? And me, who walked straight through the middle of a mob of people, elbowed by girls who were trying to get their own picture (they didn't understand my desperation, they had been there all night with a full view and all I wanted was one close up glance, just one picture people...was it necessary to call me a bitch?) Was it also me, who lied and said my friend is up in front, and I had slipped out to go to the bathroom. YES...yes it was...I made it...to the front...to see this...
After taking pictures, I just stood there letting this moment stamp into my brain. The moment where it didn't matter that I was being pushed around and people were screaming lyrics in my ear. Music, live music, it's just a little slice of my bliss. The two guitarists came to the front and rocked it out (remember, country music, but heads were banging)Aldean was standing in the corner on top of the drum stand, sipping water and enjoying his moment as he looked out to the crowd with that sexy, half smile that he has and those tight pants...wait...married man. Back to the moment,(no...he didn't look at me...dammit), the drummer made funny faces while he pounded and my heart felt every beat. It was awesome. It was actually harder to get out of the crowd than trying to make my way in.
These are the moments you will remember 20 years from now, the moments that mean the most. Like when Rachel didn't have a hat in the rain, so we tied a grocery bag around her head and laughed so hard every time we looked at her, or the time when Allison had no idea I was looking at her while she pumped her hands to the beat, singing every word as loud as she could. That was her moment, and it made me smile.
